Spring Hunting Season Safety Orange Guidelines

RIDEM guidelines recommend wearing at least 200 square inches of solid daylight fluorescent orange during spring hunting season (from the third Saturday in April through the last day of May). A hat typically provides about 200 square inches.


If you’re unsure whether hunting is allowed on a nearby property, it’s always best to err on the side of caution and wear orange—and don’t forget to “orange” your dogs, too!
